7th & West Park is part of the Vacant to Vibrant initiative, that reclaimed an empty and blighted space in the West Center City neighborhood. Through the process of remediation, construction, and landscaping, the 17,000-square-foot space, located at the corner of 7th and West Streets, has become a green oasis for the neighborhood. The remediation of this former brownfield represents a commitment to the deep-rooted and vibrant community of West Center City. Free community programming is held in the park and the nearby Rock Lot, including drumming circles, spoken word events, picnics, and others. We also support artists and local businesses with vendor opportunities and art markets, and we use local businesses to maintain these green spaces. Programming is open to the public, free of charge.

The 7th & West Streets Community Garden, located in the park, is overseen by a Farmer in Residence who works with each gardener and the surrounding community. Part educator and part guide, the Farmer helps the neighborhood gardeners to grow produce in their raised beds, as well as distributes extra food in the neighborhood. These interactions have strengthened our relationships in the community and introduced the concept of growing food in an urban setting.
